I use the Kreg Jig Junior, so far it does everything I need. I am only going to use it every once in a while, so a clamp and the workbench will do, and it does.

I have the UKJ jig which is a really nice bit of kit, all-metal, sturdy and nice quality. I got it when it was on offer for £60 for the whole kit.

The only thing the Kreg jig (K5) does better is the ability to clamp the work from the front, rather than having to reach round the back. That was not a deal breaker for me plus the Kreg was a lot more expensive and I didn't like the plastic construction.

Another point in favour of the UKJ, was the included drill is metric (I can't be doing with imperial measurements) and the screws are torx rather than square drive. Minor points I know, but just my preference.

If you're not bothered about any of the above, then go for the Dakota which is on offer at the moment and does seem like a good deal.

Cheers

Fergal

I like the kreg and got it on offer. I've not tried the others. Dakota has mixed reviews regarding quality so it probably depends how much you want to do.

I also would prefer torx.

Dakota cheapest - reviews do seem good...

It's worth noting that I have never found a bad, or even just a good review, for any product on the Rutland web site. Every one of them has five stars.

Yes I was noting that earlier. Some bloke called Barry Simms seemed to pop up in a few places!
