How do I do that?
I am trying to make a model of a fair ground gallopers, I have done the base, second attempted and now thinking how I am going to do the poles that hold the horses as they have a twist.
It is how do I get the twist that I like to know, If all fails I will do like ridges.
I will turn the wood down to , well as thin as possible by using a drill chuck and the poles will be pen blanks.
Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

Reg, I've never done one but I think you need to apply the barley twist principle. I found this web site link that will give you an idea of how it can be done....

There are no pics on that link (but a mention of a scanner needing to be fixed first!).

EDIT - found a better link on this forum (first searches returned 20 pages!)
