Can somebody tell me how to work out how much a length of timber is in metre cubed please

EG

1000mm x 100mm x100mm convert to metres 1m x 0.1m x 0.1m

Hi, Rob

A meter if its a metre wide and a metre deep, or 2 meters if its half a metre thick a metre wide and a metre deep.

Just imagine a cube of timber made of lots of smaller cubes, restack them to any shape.
