Back in the late 70's I bought a Record 311 plane but I have lost the bullnose attachment. Can anyone help with a source for replacements? Is it possible that one from a current copy would fit?

Hi,
I'm sorry I can't vouch for suitable copies that might fit. Your best bet is fleabay, as nose pieces do crop up from time to time, but you should find a good fit if you're otherwise able to source a spare nosing piece from a 077 bull nose plane.
Another option would be to make a new section if you've the facility for such work.

Another option would be to look for a separate bull-nose plane if you really want one - they seem to be pretty cheap on ebay at present. From a quick look at completed listings the price range seems to be from about £12 to £40 (ignoring the common but nasty Stanley 75).
