Hello chaps,

I've got the walls up in the workshop and I'll be starting the roof soon.

I've chucked a tarpaulin over it now just to pretend I've got a roof (reminds me of making a camp as a kid!)

I'm not massivley happy with the light in there and I'd like to put a skylight in the roof (Home made of course).

Has anyone ever made on and is there anything to look out for?

Its simple enough to build a frame in the roof and rebate it so I can drop the glass in but I'm just asking in case anyones made one before.

Thanks,
steven

I tried a few years back to make an opening skylight. Admittedly I did not have access to a full set of tools at the time, but it was hard work and leaked forever more. Personally If I wanted an opening light I would fork out and buy a velux.

Incidently I did try a couple of months back to get a cheaper make from the Loftshop. Don't bother. The instructions were Cr*P and the amount of time I wasted compared to fitting a Velux wasn't worth it.
