I have around 1/2ltr. of clear shellac over 3 years old and the last time I used it and placed another bit of the same species of timber adjacent I could hardly tell the difference.

I have heard shellac has a shelf life, can I revive it?

pre mixed forBEST results should be used with in 1 year, but I have been using shellac that is 5 years old - it reaally comes down to storage - air tight and I mean AIR TIGHT ! un opened is still good. When used, SQUEZE OUT ALL AIR [ ok to do in plastic - but try it with a tin :p ] Lack of air with its moisture in the idea, once moisture enters the polish it then is only good for fadding up, then use FRESH polish to body up and spirit off.

HS still trying to build a workshop :?

So if its a tin fill the empty space up with glass marbles to eliminate the air.

Used to do that with developers in the old days.
