I have a 102 plane, just wondering when sharpening if I should still put a camber on the edges and make it a bevel? like an ordinary plane,

it is a bevel up design low angle block plane by lie neilsen, is there any advantage to this sharpening method on block planes? cheers.

Ben.

Wether you put a camber on the blade or not, you won't get much camber effect in practise due to the low bed angle (12.5°).

You can get camber, but will have to use more than you thought when sharpening. (on account of the 12 degrees pitch).

I like it, one can avoid the corners of the blade from digging in.

It depends what type of work you are doing.

best wishes,
David
