Having spent time this morning finding a home for some of the recent acquisitions, I got round to sorting out the travelling kit.

Surprise, surprise, one bright orange Versa Chuck that was all polished and a shiny silver colour when it was put in the car boot 5 days ago.
Fortunately after changing the ISO backing plate to allow it back on my lathe, a quick lick of some 240 grit cleaned it up without any sign of blemishes. After an apologetic sort out of ingrained dust and a coat of Microcrystalline it showed its forgiveness by beaming back from its winter warmed home draw with a satisfying sparkle.

Know that feeling my bandsaw does not fit into the shed so have it else where I noticed that slight brown colour starting to appear so a quick rub with a scouring pad and a coat of wax job done and ready for winter

Same here :-( Suddenly one of those nice stainless steel chucks from Axminster would seem to have been a better bet.

Just to irritate you blokes, I've put a bucket of water in the shed to keep the moisture levels up a little.

Yep and I bet you are in the 40 deg mark. Quite a few woodworkers have said on an Australian website

Only expecting 26 today but I'm afraid the shed is much hotter. :(
