Here we are Huds, this is what I meant by using springs on the cutters.

Each of the cutters has a collar with an allen screw to retain the bearing but they don't seem to bite too well on some. With the addition of the springs it just assures the bearing can't ride up and out of the template. HTH. :wink:
Oh and thanks Jumps. Have to admit the jig is good for the cost. :D
 
Ah i thought you meant put the springs on the shank of the bit, when you said biro springs i thought they wouldn't fit and gathered i was missing something. I see they have been stretched.

Can you not use a collor in the router rather then bits with bearings?

Not sure if you could use a collar (I assume you mean a guide bush) it would have to be the exact diameter of the bearing of course but I don't see why not.
