Hi everyone,
Just joined the forum, fairly new to turning and looking forward to learning loads from you guys!

Wanted to ask about powering my lathe. Im about to rent a garage for work and also as a workshop as i live in a flat, but the one im looking at has no mains power!? what do you think is the best way (if any!) of powering my lathe? are we talking generators or perhaps a couple of car batteries? electrics is something I know nothing about. My lathe is an Axminister AWVSL 375W motor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

welcome along. i think a generator is the best way forward, but you must remember these make dangerous fumes and there also very pinchable.

tbh i think finding somewhere with power would be your best option, a list a of just a few things you might want to run:
oiled filled radiator
lights
lathe
grinder

where abouts in london are you, my friend in new cross had an artists space where he did woodworking. the rates iicrc where quite decent

hopes this helps
