Having finished this round of interior decs it's time to paint the garage doors.

Fairly standard metal panel doors but the paint is rather old and starting to flake in some areas (galvanised underneath).

Clearly a good clean down beforehand but then what product to use? Research is leading me towards Bedec multi surface paint as it gets good reviews and a real plus is no priming or undercoat required!

I've never had to paint metal doors before so any product tips from those who have experience of a reasonable lasting products would be helpful.

Thanks

i would clean off as best as possible then use an etch primer, before using a topcoat, i don't have much regard for these one coat paints tbh,

Zinsser Allcoat exterior on my garage door, looks great. Only areas of rust are those I didn't prep properly.

+1 for Hammerite, wire brush in angle grinder on any flaking existing paint areas then red metal primer on just those bits to cover the bare metal. Did mine two years ago and still looks OK.
