Hello. Just a quick post in case anyone has a suggestion to aid my predicament...

I was shifting a pedestal grinder into position this morning when I battered the control box with my knee bursting the front cover off and damaging the contactor underneath. It looks like I have to replace the whole unit as the contactor is an integrated unit and pretty dependant on the location of the switches on the box front. I've conducted an extensive Google search but can't find a reasonably priced replacement anywhere (could be to do with my googling capabilities!)

Anybody have any ideas where to readily source a replacement at the lowest possible price??

The machine is 3 phase.

Very many thanks for any input. Hopefully one day I can repay the assistance I've received from this forum!

Cheers, Duncan.

MacGregor,

I'm not sure I'm helping because I lack any real info from you eg is it 415 or 230v 3 phase. What horsepower etc etc.

I just searched ebay for 3 phase control box and several of these popped up.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13HP-Thre...ial_Automation_Control_ET&hash=item1c3a4bc393

Seem to include a modern switch and contactor set from the pictures.

Price is about £29

If not this one then must be something closer to your spec.

I've got a couple of three phase starter switches here somewhere. Don't know if they'd be suitable though.

Thanks folks, yes I should have said it is 415V 3 Phase 3/4 Hp. My eBay search came up with no leads (must have been using the wrong search terms!) I'll have another bash.
And SWB58, I was by no means looking for donations, just pointers but if you have surplus I'll happily send a cheque!
Thanks again.

Duncan.

Well if it's any good to you, you can have it for the price of P&P.

Let's see if it's suitable first though. I've got some numbers off it . . . . . .
MEM STARTET
CAT. No. 6PS
VOLTS MAX 500AC
AMPS 0.6 & 0.8

I can email pictures if the above sounds promising.
