New toy

Always fancied playing around with a microscope attached to the computer and Amazon have discounted the VeHo which give 200x magnification to £32. Here's a couple of quick images I took.

The first one (50x) is the edge on an Irwin chisel just sharpened using the WorkSharp.

The next one is a grotty Stanley chisel ...which clearly needs a lot more work if it will ever get to be as good as the Irwin.

I bought a 500X USB magnifier from Ebay. 99pence plus £18 postage. Pretty good pictures. I bought it for looking at blade edges. Try a few finishing strokes across the blade on your finest stone, the raggedness of the edge almost disapears.
