Meths! no longer contains methanol and hasn't since late 2013. No one told me. :roll: The UK version of denatured alcohol was usually a small percentage of meths, around 5%. The vast majority of it being ethanol. Now the new formula has substituted the meths content with Isopropanol and MEK. A touch more user friendly.

Who knew?! I haven't had to buy any in years but will soon and I smelt some meths off the shelf the other week and it did smell very different (much better) which I assumed was just down to that manufacturer's odour additive.

Now the new formula has substituted the meths content with Isopropanol and MEK.

Oh I'm sure that's so much safer :shock:
