I'm after a little advice from anyone who has or has used the METABO PK255 http://www.dm-tools.co.uk/product.php/s ... n/METPK255 at the mo i have the Dewalt DW745 but I’m thinking of upgrading to something a little more suitable for finer woodworking than what the dw745 is capable of and certainly something a little quieter. I've owned the dw745 for a few years now and as a starter saw it’s been great, the fence system is surprisingly good but its downfall is its noise and vibration aswell as being suited more for site use than a woodshop. My questions are: does anyone own and use the PK255 and how is it in regards to accuracy, does it use an induction motor or a brush motor? Any other input would be appreciated or even recommendations of other saws, my limiting factors are size and weight, as much as i would love a cast iron cabinet saw weighing 200kg it just wouldn’t be practical.

On that page you tagged DM do say that it has an induction motor.
I've found conflicting info on differeant sites, for e.g http://www.metabo.com/Product-catalogue ... 063.0.html says a universal motor which to my understanding of http://home.howstuffworks.com/question338.htm is a brush motor otherwise i would expect it to be named as an induction motor or maybe i understand it wrong so was hoping an owner would tell me for sure.maltrout512":19vd613u said:
