Hi everyone,

I've just bought an old Meddings Pacera 240v bench drill. Currently I'm without workshop, so just running it from mains at home, but it trips after a few mins of being on.

Any idea why this might be? The on/off switch is an old MEM STARTET unit, but can't work out how to change the setting of the trips. (I'm guessing this is the problem?)

There's an old diagram inside the unit which talks about 'moving clips in or out' to achieve for min and max setting. Not sure what it means though.

Any help hugely appreciated.

Thanks,

Karl

This will be to do with the amperage setting on the starter.

You may find that the setting is near to the 'min' setting, and needs to be (assuming) nearer to the 'max' position to work correctly.

I have had this when retro fitting DOL starters on my machinery, its sometimes trial and error, but on most starters it should have an AMP scale at which to set the pointer.

Maybe some pictures and I can help better if this doesn't clear things up for you.
