Really, I swear !

My record for seeing people on a scooter over there is a 5-strong family (and only the guy riding had a helmet !), and up North, where the volcano is eprupting now, if you go scuba diving and need to walk across a load of volcanic boulders to get to the water, wizened old ladies in flip flops carry your tank and rig hands-free on a cloth pad on their heads across the rocks and pounce along like gazelles, while you carrying just fins and mask with tough grippy scuba bootees struggle to stay vertical ! - I heard that some take 2 tanks, one front to back, one side to side but never saw that.

I carried a ton and a quarter of cast iron spiral staircase and other steel in and on a Volvo 245 estate from Newport, Shropshire to West Cornwall - I must have nearly worn through the wheel arches.
