Making bird boxes and trying to find an oil(Easier to soak right into wood)that's cheap enough for woodworking for wellbeing's groups short arms/shallow pockets!
Mind Tung oil ive got seems to go a fair ole way. Last use i put some in a tin put it on stove warmed it up then added some lighter petrol and brushed it on still have a good amount left of that.
Did think about Linseed but they say affected by mould and boiled would most likley get RSPB Anoraks hammering down door?

As made out of various woods would prefer to coat up for two tops are made out of ringed tree so end grained upwards so water will soak in and weather change will split them.
Box i made out of tree trunk so looks quite natural.
