Logs and seasoning

I have some logs outside, been there a good 6 months and about 8" diameter, I think willow. If I cut them up into say 10" logs how long would I have to leave them before I could use them but i'd like to leave the bark on? I'm thinking of using them for trinket boxes as they have lovely bark.

If the wood is indeed Willow I suspect that you may be disappointed with the percentage of usable wood recovered if it has been left to its own devices.
