Apparently every Kunz plane on Rutlands is "Sold out".

Are they any good? I always thought they were a pretty low-quality tool, but I've only ever seen a spoveshave and a No 4 by them in person.

I've seen fair reviews of their squirrel plane, which I haven't seen other vendors do at that price point. Also Dieter Schmid and Dictum carry them so I'm inclined to think they aren't a waste of time.

No thorough experience of them myself, handled a few but nothing extensive.

More options is never a bad thing....usually...

Bought the scraper plane a few years ago, Ebay impulse buy. It's a copy of the old Stanley design, nice to hold and weighted well, but let down by a poor (thin) blade. Chattered like a magpie when in use. I've mothballed it, aiming to splash out on a Hack blade for it when my new workshop comes out of gestation (this summer?).
