hi
i am trying to get hold of 20mm pine (or slightly thicker) if possible x 150/160 x anylength... is 20 mm normal for pine thickness and if so why cant i seem to find it in Notts..

and what would be a good quality name to buy..

should be common stuff- it is 1" nominal. It will be listed as 25 x 150mm (actually 20 x 145mm or thereabouts). The next step up will be 175mm, finishing at 170 odd, so you may have to make a decision which size to go for.

I would expect any decent timber merchant to keep 6x1 pse. The DIY places tend to have some weird sizes, and may call it something else. I am not sure where in Notts you are, but in Nottingham Harlow Bros list it http://www.harlowbros.co.uk/clientfiles ... edwood.pdf, i would expect that any travis/jewsons/etc would keep it, even if you have to search through to find a decent bit.
