Hi I don't need this just now but for future reference.
I'm not sure what exactly the make up of these boxes are but has anyone any ideas of an alternative home made job That would be suitable for 25mm water pipe to bring it in at floor level to avoid digging up the floor to instal ducting.

Sorry greg I had wrong name in the title. Basically it is a box with some type or types of insulation in it to protect mdpe water pipe from freezing above ground level against the building.

wouldnt matter what you had on top if the bottom of the pipe is laying on concrete. Youd want at least 1" black or grey foam insulation underneath it. but you would still need that even if you buried the pipe just below the surface.

Unless youre talking a hundred feet or more, I'd go for the ready made that will give you piece of mind next time the freeze sets in.
