In my last post I mentioned a Elm bowl I was turning that I found a soft knot in the side as I was shaping the bowl :cry:

Well this is the outcome , I am pleased with it

I made up some resign ? with copper powder in it filled the knot and sanded it down , I think it came out quite well :lol:

There is no added colour it all in the wood , super piece of wood !!!

And the Chairman of our Club want to put in in a competition on our Club table :lol: :lol:
 
Nice rescue job,think you were lucky to save it.The spalting and pippy figuring in the last picture look great,though. :D

Well rescued, love Elm for its figuring, pity it is so hard to find these days.
To think we used to use it for general repairs around the farm 60 yrs ago.
Two that came down in a storm leaving the gap on the left of this picture lasted us several years.
