I've just sold my Magnolia mitre guillotine and I have to put it on a pallet.

This one:

Do you think it would be OK to go on it's back or should I ship it upright?

It's half a pallet either way so it's not to save money, but I think I can screw a bit of timber to the pallet if it were on it's back, otherwise I'll have to use a ratchet strap.

What do you think?

Oh, I do have some pallet warp as well but I think that it'll still need strapping or fixing to be safer.

i'd lay it down on its back, screw lumps of timber around it to stop it slipping in any direction horizontally. then i'd chuck at least one strap around it (pallet banding strap I mean not a ratchet strap).
I'd then shrink wrap the whole thing and send it using a reliable pallet courier such as PW gates (we use them all the time).
To cover yourself, take photos of the finished pallet just before its collected and send them to the receipient so he knows what to expect when it arrives, if anythings out of place or damaged then make sure he marks it as such when he signs to say he's receives it. If you sign without checking then you'll have a hard time getting compensation out of the courier if they damaged it during transit.

If it has feet or holes in the base for fixing to the floor use those to bolt it to the pallet in which case upright.
