Heard this on the radio the other day and it works. When you get in your car/van/batmobile on a cold morning and you have the blower going. Pull your sunvisors down. Deflects the heat back down the windscreen. Simple effective genius. Your cold dead hands can thank Absoloute Radio tomorrow morning when you're late for work and your demist takes less time. How did I get to Forty and never think of this? Bear in mind I'll still be doing the 4 mph shuffle while peering out of a 3" hole tomorrow morning at 4am, lighting a *** and drinking killer coffee while fumbling with the sat nav. I'll just be doing it a few minutes earlier than last week. God Bless the Highway code.

Surely Alfred defrosts the Batmobile?
That's what I thought,
And empties the ashtrays!
I don't do the 4 and 5 AM starts any more, didn't take any notice at the time, Older and wider!

Master Bruce. Some men just want watch the world burn. Right. Bed for me. Some of us are propping up the economy. :D

Washing up liquid smeared on the inside of your visor and wiped off keeps it fog free, or lift it up

Hard frost on the windscreen this morning. I often laugh to myself when I defrost the screen with some tepid water as it took the folks several winters in the small close where I used to live to work out how I could come out to the car on a winters morning after them but drive off to work while they were still scraping their screens. The penny dropped eventually and they would all come out with a jug of water when their screens were frosted up. I still see idiots outside their houses with scrapers, still, if it makes them happy...

Tried that!
The water froze before I got in the car to put the wipers on!!
Right so and so to scrape off!!!

good way to crack your windscreen too (assuming there is a stone chip or some such in it)
Been doing it for 50 years without a problem.

Use slightly warm water, start the engine and set the wipers going first but watch you don't get defrosted too! :)

Kettle of hot water applied on the steel ABOVE the glass, warms the glass momentarily before the rest gets hotter and clears the nasty, nasty frost off, If you pour it on the glass, it will crack the glass.
I saw that someone used vinegar on their car glass before the overnight frost and the frost didn't settle.
Personally, the glass could smear or be dangerous at night also people might think you're selling chips!

Yes, me too and many of my screens have had small chips in them as well.

One of the nicest features of my car this time of year are the heated seats, great when I get back ache as well! I'd like a heated steering wheel on the next car as well if I can get one.

Ah well that proves it then. Lol.

Yup, 6 pint milk container of hand warm water defrosts the screen within seconds. Jump in the car and off you go

Ford patented it, so not normally found on other makes ( except Jaguar and LR as Ford used to own them).
We used to have it on a Kuga and it was a great feature.

I used to start the car whilst having breakfast and angling air vents to clear the side windows. I know it wastes fuel but it meand getting into a warm car which wontt mist up. Unfortunately my current car has a keyless fob that wont allow the car to be locked when the engine is running. Its a bit risky leaving a car outside with engine running, best not to be a victim of frosting.
