After 2nd practice:

I don't dislike LH at all, but was rather hoping it would be more of a fight this year. We'll see.

Bottas hasn't settled-in yet so at least it won't be entirely an AMG front row... probably.

Hopefully the BBC won't put spoilers into their news bulletins as they did last year - in a news-addicted household, it's hard to not listen.

Sigh,

E.

I haven't watched it yet Eric, who's the spoiler now? :roll: :lol:

It's only practice day so a bit early to predict the race, there are always a lot of unknowns and mechanical issues in the first race of the season and with all the new mods this year anything can happen.

That said, I hope LH does win as he was robbed of the championship last year because of reliability issues. I would, as everyone else like of course to see some hard racing and plenty of overtaking and wouldn't write off Ferrari or Red Bull, just hope McLaren can get themselves sorted out.

As a Ferrari fan since I was 30 I sincerely hope they get their act together this year. Hamilton should have won last year but for all the breakdowns. I am glad Bernie has gone but it will take Ross Brawn a while to turn teh sport into a racing spectacle again. We need fuel stops brought back.

@Lons: :oops: :oops: :oops: Sorry!

Looking forward to the quali highlights tomorrow - still haven't seen the new cars running race-fit.

Eldest has married and emigrated to L.A.. but F1 is still a shared enthusiasm I have with him. But I miss the ten-year-old curled up next to me on the sofa, watching it together. They get far too big far too fast...

E.

PS: Agree about Lewis last season. I think he's the classiest driver out there right now, although there are some really good new faces, Verstappen being the most obvious. If LH does win this year, he's going to have to fight very hard to hold onto the championship for future seasons I think.

No3 Child lives on Upper Belgrave road, which - I think - is also your locale Eric? There were quite a few F1 aspirants piling up the hill from the zoo direction when I visited a few weeks ago! Took your life in your hands crossing to Clifton Down. Ironically, he house-shares with one of the latest cohort of Formula Student engineers from Bath! Great war stories of the graduate car and its trials round the European circuit.
