Evening all
Some friends of mine have had to have a wood cut down. They are understandably upset by this and would like a memento of it made. I think they are fairly open-minded as to what it should be. In exchange they are happy to offer some of the wood from the clearing. There is oak, apple, field maple, hawthorn, laurel, poplar and lots more.
It's not mature, 22 years, but according to the tree surgeon it is of surprising quality. Trunk sizes from 8 to 15", so it may be of more interest to turners than furniture makers. I've not seen it myself and I'm not in a position, unfortunately, to take them up on their offer. But if anyone in the Nottingham/Derby area is interested I can put you in touch.
