Lathe has not been used a great deal, and its the uk made model.

Any questions, please ask.

Eddie.

Do you think the asking price is too high ?

Was going to use the money towards a new shed, so i can have more room in the garage, but some sc*m bag vandalised my camper van last night (Tried levering the fuel flap off, bent it, and chipped all the paint round the edge, and ripped the horn and wiring out)
So i guess if it is sold, the bulk of that will go to fix my campervan.

Hi Eddie,

I bought one of these a couple of years ago 2ndhand. I think your price would be in the ballpark pre-recession. If you are after a quick sale - maybe have to come down a bit with things the way they are.

good luck with a sale.

Might be worth selling some of the bits seperately, people tend to assume they can get them all thrown in with the price but if you sell things like the chuck, helmet, tools, grinder etc seperately I think you will end up getting more in total.

Might be worth trying the bay as well if no takers here.......

Cheers, Paul :D

I have been watching lathes sell on eBay and I think your price
is exactly in the right ballpark..
Someone who wants a complete start up kit and kaboodle will snatch
your hand of..
Sorry ti hear about your camper-van..
Total disbelief over people and vandalism to cars...I have had 2 hit
on my street and no one owning up..One was a total right off.
Would love to own a camper-van but do not have a garage..
but I have a shed and wood to turn...

Good luck selling the lathe

Hi all,

Thanks for the comments, just discovered that they ripped my vintage style klaxon horn off as well (Came to use the horn - nothing, thought a wire had come off, looked underneath - No horn and two cut wires) more money to fork out great.

Anyway, do you think if i asked for £400, it would be more in tune with the current economic climate.

Thanks,

Eddie.

Hi Eddie,

That's about what i thought would be a very reasonable ask. I'd be a bit surprised if you don't get any interest at that.

Ike

Do not see the point of that type of vandalism..
Make my brain hurt just thinking about the mentality of people
who do it........
Wow a drop of 100 quid..if Xmas was not round the corner
and all my vulturous relative to feed I would have a pop at it..lol
As already been said if you was to split the items perhaps you could get
a better price.
Do you have a place where you can get spares for your van..??

Hi hog&bodge,

Spare's are not a problem for these (Even though mine is 43 years old) i know of a dozen or places that import parts from sunnier climes by the container full, so it is not a problem.

Its the cost of the paint that will hurt, i will have to get the full panel prepped and painted as well as the flap (Because yellow is a sod to match).

Need to get it done soon as the damage is down too the bare metal, and the rust is now on the bare metal surface.

So somebody please treat themselves to a lathe for chrismas, and help me fix my bus.

Eddie.

Bad news,

The fuel thieves came back again last night, they got it open this time, and managed to completely drain my fuel tank (They took about £30's worth).
Great, when you're down, they just keep on kicking.

Looks like i will have to retire the bus for the winter now, and find a garage where i can store it, and look for a car i can use over the winter.

Eddie.
