Just got one of these and very pleased with it. About 3 times the price of the cheap plastic ones at £25 - but metal casing, dead basic, really well built, quiet and amazingly compact. No frills at all - 2kW, 2 switches (so 1 or 2 kW), no thermostat (eBay copy implies there is but it's a safety cut-out). From Germany but really fast (free) shipping and included a neat clip-on euro-to-Uk 3 pin adaptor. I'm sick of the cheap electricals that fail in some silly way after 14 months - this looks very promising so far

I've got one that came out of a shop refit and was placed above the door in a travel agents. It's very sturdy and has been going strong for a few years now. That one of yours looks a good 'un.
