That door is brilliant.

Nightingale floors were generally used in abodes where important people lived and slept, and used as an alarm system against assassins.

The door is amazing, and the mechanics are so simple when you consider it, but personally I still think pocket hole or sliding door would be more practical, as you can at least tailor the door design to the house.

But for pure aesthetic bling, I doubt you'd find something more "wow factor" than this.
