One of these came up on the forums a couple of years ago, without the power feed - so, one slip and you'd shave a few layers of skin off your arm!! :shock: :?

I wonder if they do a thicknesser as well? :wink: And how long the blades last before they need sharpening... Just imagine, you wouldn't have to worry about rollers marks or scollops from a rotating cutter block!

Nice video. Garret Hack mentions these in The Handplane Book - page 154 - and says there that they need sharpening after about 300 lineal feet.

It's great to be able to see these things in action so easily - the written description doesn't do it justice.

Notice the angle of the cutter, I think about 30 degrees of skew.
