looking to buy a dovetail jig, just wondering which jig people recommend. It will mostly be used for drawer construction so 12" capacity will be fine. I have looked at the axminster and rutlands jig but am looking for something a bit more versatile so that dovetails can be centered on the timber. Don't really want to spend any more than £200.

Thanks

I have tried a few of them and found that the Rutland's Dakota one to be the best for me. It can only manage through dovetails of even spacing but it is so quick and easy to use and accurate enough. it does require a backing board making to mount it on but once that is done it takes literally minutes to set up and cut the dovetails. I always use this for drawer boxes and have even used it for making toy boxes as it isn't constrained by it's length. HTH.
