Hi Guys

I bought a Vac pump late last year and it's been collecting dust ever since. After splashing out on the ProEdge, my toy fund is depleted for the time being. So I thought I might have a go at making one. All I have found on the subject so far is Bob Chapman's diagram. But he states that he'd never actually built it.

Anyone found another source of info on the matter?

Hi Fred. Yep I saw that earlier. He drilled out his spindle, which is something I can't do:

So I need to use a Rotary connector like on near the bottom of this page:

But £170+ is a bit spendy for me right now.

Hi Tom
I am actually making one of these chucks for my lathe. My Vicmarc has 33mm thread on either end of the hollow spindle so I am mounting one of these

into a piece of wood with a 33mm thread tapped into it on the rear of the spindle then adapting something to connect my vacuum to the inner part of the bearing. Apparantly you have to use double sealed bearings to maintain the vacuum. I did email Phil Irons to ask about a vac adaptor but no reply but this idea I think from one of the Bob`s is much cheaper. Will let you know how I get on.
Cheers
Steve

Oops just noticed yours doesn`t have a hollow spindle but I have seen what you are after somewhere will try and find the info.
