Hey all

I need to use some Danish oil on my kitchen worktops. Got an old tin of Rustins in the loft.

Popped up there last night and it is brass monkeys up there!! Not sure if it has ever got down to freezing or not.

Will it be ok to use? Or should I bin it and get some more?

How does one go about disposing of Danish oil?

Many thanks.

Hi, how long has it been in the loft? I find that it is best to get rid after about 6 months anyway. Its not that expensive compared to the time and effort you have put into whatever you are finishing.
To get rid of the old oil I generally use it around the workshop, seal up the odd jig I've made or clean up the office stool etc. I find that the older oil take a little longer to dry but it doesn't matter this way. Failing that most council run tips have a paint and oil section.
