To all you home diy'ers out there!!

What power cutting tools do you use in your home workshop and for what purpose do you use them?

Not sure many of us will want to do this. It is frightening when you write it down :)
A Bosch axial glide mitre saw - for cross cutting
Makita track saw - for all sorts of stuff.
Dewalt circular saw – no longer used now I have the track saw
Worx mini circular saw – no idea why I brought it.
Dewalt jigsaw – for cutting irregular shapes
Worx Multitool – for all sorts of stuff when I am reminded I have it.
Dewalt radial arm saw – No longer used should get rid of it really.
Axi 400 bandsaw - lots of stuff.
I am sure there are others as well but cannot think of them at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. Did you want to sell your Dewalt circular saw? :p

Pm me

Only when I have to crosscut lots of oak sleepers (hammer)

Exakt saw for really thin stuff
Parkside 85mm mini circular saw (like the worx above) for thicker stuff, and my goto for many sheet rips
el-cheapo circular saw
(can't rem brand but better than el-cheapo) circular saw
Triton 235 circular saw (for tablesaw bench)
B&D jigsaw

I actually like my little circular saw, it's easy to use for trimming etc much simpler than the bigger CS. I'd defininately buiy another.

I'll be honest, I have about six circular saws, two mitre saws and a table saw that I rarely use. I tend to do most of my work these days with my cordless jigsaw. It's just so versatile, as are my routers :)

1) Bosch jigsaw-Primarily used to rough cut to length.

2) Bosch circular saw-Cutting large sheet goods to rough size.

and finally.........

3) and my most essential and frequently used power cutting tool............An electric carving knife for cross cutting freshly baked bread :D 8)

Not sure if i qualify for this as i am a self employed carpenter & joiner but my workshop is at home and i do it all myself

Sounds interesting. I can sort of picture it being used for cutting a long thin slot for a false toung or something. Did you have something else in mind ?

Hi Graham
When these jointers first came out they were advertised as biscuit jointer and shadow gap saw. Never used it for shadow gaps but have used it to take up some flooring ripping the tongue off , when it was the only power saw i had with me.

Cheers Bern :D

I'd imagine you could also use it for cutting panel rebates in doors?
