What have you used to board the loft?

in the past i have used the t&g chipboard loft packs, but have found that they never quite fit exactly and always need cutting which results in a lot of waste. they also seem expensive.

was looking at getting big sheets of chipboard and cutting to the sizes i want(is also cheaper), but was wondering if i could use other material such as mdf?

cheers

OSB(sterlin board) or shuttering plywood can also be used and they are lighter than MDF.

Infact I just used a few packs of OSB loft boards from B&Q that fit together like Click lock flooring.

I think you'll be wasting your time if you buy large sheets. There is a reason the loft packs come in small sizes and that is because it's difficult to get an 8x4 sheet into the loft with the roof still in place  If you buy a large sheet you'll just end up with lots of smaller sheets only without the t&g to keep it all level and sturdy.
