Hi Ian

Thanks for posting the link, which I've added to my favourites.

I also have a page from one of the mags of Alan Holtham doing the same thing.

Cheers
Neil

I much prefer the foot on the blade method as it gives more control.
Its not the folding that is a problem but rather the "wrestling a demented crocodile" of opening an already folded blade! What is the best method? Sometimes I go out onto the lawn and gently release the ties and throw it away from me so that it can safely spring apart. Do you don thick gloves, mask, goggles and protective clothing and just fight it?

Aldel

S'what I do; seems to be the safest way.

Cheers, Alf

Yep, I just chuck mine out infront of me too... I still remember the first time I unfolded one, trying in my ignorace to control it, and ending cup with my forearm cut to shreds... :?

Also helps allot if you wear leather gloves to do this little job - saves the fingers from being shredded on the teeth - Rob

I just use my hands and have not been cut since I first started undoing them  ( I must be lucky  , I think  )
