Backing up on a Mac?

Go into applications/utilities/disk utility & you can format a disk for mac, you can also partition a disk & use 1 partition for windows & the rest for Mac. I have Microsoft Office Mac on mine & can open windows files through that. Photos should open anyway because they will be jpeg, tiff or gift. Hope this is of help.

Separate 1T Western Digital external HD purchased this morning at PC World, with 33% off, so now all the stuff on the IMac is merrily backing up...many thanks for all your help guys, appreciated as ever - Rob

As far as I'm aware Rog, (according to the blub) it's backing up automatically if new files are added or old ones amended - Rob
