The power of the back-story in marketing is quite astonishing; no criticism - just open-mouthed, slack-jawed admiration at the level of brass neck required to carry this off.

BACKSTORY
The bones of old New York get a new lease on life in these Dutch-style bicycle crates. Built to last a lifetime from reclaimed local wood sealed with natural tung oil, each beautiful Brooklyn-made piece is imbued with its own unique character. Caboose it onto your bike to carry the day’s produce, impromptu flowers for your sweetheart, or whatever you need to transport in a stylish manner—emission-free!

INFORMATION
• Dimensions: 12” x 12” x 16”
• Variations in texture and design are hallmarks of handmade singularity

A wooden crate to bolt on your bicycle rack - yours for $95 - act fast, there could be a rush on these. Maybe a group-buy to take the sting out of international shipping?

... or you may like one of his wonky cups with no handle at only $49 and perhaps a matching wonky bowl for £70?

Thanks for that, still chuckling at the "Makers of handcrafted, antique moustache wax" - is Brooklyn now Brooklandia?

I have no idea what a "doorag" is.

Bandanna or similar worn on the head to cover hair (or in this case - since we are making fun of hipsters and related lifeforms, cover dread-locks and keep the patchouli well in place).

Maybe. But scholars may point to Brooklyn as being the epicenter of "hipster culture".

And what better way to discuss the evolution of the hipster than with puppets : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbTI7eWaQbk
