I got one about 2 months ago - works for me.
Axminster have a good name for customer service.
Reading the scrolling literature before I bought I came away with the impression that I didn't need variable speed for wood, unless it was thin. I have found variable speed useful.
Now you come to mention it I haven't seen any for sale. Given the price of secondhand tools on ebay - generally too high for me - I went for new with Axi's 3 years warranty.
