Hello all,
Its only a matter of time I got my battered brain around to ask advice on a mini lathe, so here goes!
to answer the inevitable question, what do you want to make? and how much I want spend? as much as it costs for the right mini late that has the options I stated below!
Well initially like any newbie I wish to turn small items such as pens, lamp stands medium bowls.
ive seen some really small mini lathes suited to pen turning only, knaa not my choice.
eventually a mini lathe can perform over the years to perfect medium bowls (cant say measurement size bowl they will be)
Speed control is a certain, all that adjusting belts with one hand will do my heed in.
ive started with Axminster but many links to go.

thinking a better motor, adjustable tailstock, viable speed a must.
so many has some of the options, but not all.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! frustrating and confusing
any help would appreciated.

sorry if I cant explained properly...

+1 for the Axminster 1416VS.
I replaced my old M900 with one a few weeks ago and it is brilliant. Solid, precise and very quiet.
You could always ask if the have an ex-demo model, I got 10% off one that had been used for a couple of hours and had some scuffs on the tool rest. They even gave me 10% off a new stand.

Just my luck! saving my pocket money, I have to go today and view a car!!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! but not all lost.... turn into BLACK OPS. saving.
