Aldi UK - Loadsa stuff - work clothes (inc socks, fingerless gloves and beanie hats - how can you work without 'em?)
A 101-piece bit set for £7.99, so probably not rebranded Festool.
An axe and a log-splitting maul for a tenner each (a bit late)
Sets of pliers £5.99, set of spanners £3.99, Allen keys same price.
34-piece tap and die set for £14.99 (might be worth it?) no idea of sizes.

Chocolate Hobnobs 99p. A must-buy.

Aldi France has got an internet radio (€99.99) and dinky little tablespoon spoon that weighs as well. Drive you up the wall, it would. No Hobnobs, but a set of spanners on the 16th for €8.99. Probably made of drop-forged jam, but you never know.

Lidl UK has got a load of office equipment from the 21st.

I bought a couple of 1kg dry powder extinguishers there today for £4.99 each, obviously you can't tell without testing them, but they look OK. There were none of the battery chargers I went in for, of course. And 5 litres of antifreeze windscreen wash for £4.

I wish those bl**dy foxes would shut up.

Happy shopping...

I bought one the time before last & took it to where I was working (they have their own fire brigade) and asked their specialist. he told me they were a top brand & he had them at home.

I bought more last time ( both cars, house, garage, workshop)

Lidl screenwash is great - I use it all the time :D And a dilute solution is good for cleaning the car windows inside and out.

Cheers

Missed the charger
Any near you anybody :?: :?:

Andy

Picked up the charger & estinguisher yesterday. The charger seems a clone of my CTEK & they are a damn site more. But as that's about to be permanently fitted to the other car.

There was one or 2 left. Want me to check? Will be passing it later today.

Also got the ultrasonic cleaner from Aldi.

I went up to Lidl to get the ROS as mine just gave up the ghost but they'd not even had them in, they did have loads of chargers, give me a shout if you'd like me to get one for you Andy and Smudger. If you're coming the the Axminster thing in Feb I could pass them on then?
Did anyone see the sander in their local Lidl? If so would you be V kind to grab one for me pls?
Cheers,
T

Thanks for the kind offer, but I went in this morning and they'd got about a dozen - either I missed them last time or they were put out late. Also got another fire extinguisher, there were only a few left, so they have been popular.
The shallots were back, but no semi-skimmed milk...

any who has some chisels they need ruining might consider this offering from Lidl.

Nice blue blade the user has got themselves there!

The belt sander looks pretty good though. Like that stand that comes with it.

That's just some numpty model. The grinder looks reasonable, as does the belt sander if you don't want too much from it. As No1 son has got mine at the minute I'll suggest he gets himself one.

I can speak for the child safety gates, we have got some of those and they are fine, except that gd has worked out how they screw to the wall (she 'helped' me put them up)l, and if her fingers were a bit stronger, or she knew where the adjustables were kept...

Don't know about the halogens, but they are probably worth a punt at £2 for 2.

Incidentally, I picked up a laminater (pouch type) from Wilkinsons todat for under a tenner. Details to follow if anyone's interested. Got it to make flash cards, drawer labels etc.
