I hope this Kiwi old-timer is welcome in a UK forum which appears to be very active and friendly. Although I admit to having learnt a lot from American woodies, I seem to relate more comfortably to Brits (I once heard it said: "NZers are South Sea Brits while Australians are South Sea Yanks"). Having lived in both southern countries I tend to agree, although I have many good Aussie friends. I inherited my interest in woodworking from my tradesman chairmaker father and have always dabbled. In retirement my attention has been focused on making items such as pens and small sculptures made with the use of a scroll saw and a small lathe. Kia ora (greetings) to everyone here.
