60 1/2 grinding angle help

hi guys
just bought a second hand 60 1/2 block plane off flea-bay but the iron is in a shocking state.
is the grinding angle 25 degrees and the honing angle 30 degrees as usual or something different?

I think its 22.5 for a 60 1/2 as that what mine came as an thats what I sharpen it to. 25 is more for a standard pitch plane and the 60 1/2 is a low angle block plane. Someone else much more knowledgeable will be able to tell you but hope this helps.

Lie Nielsen grind theirs at 25º, primary bevel.

Depends entirely what you want to do with it. For endgrain, you'll probably want a bevel angle of 25 degrees or less. If you go much less than this (which you almost certainly won't need to) you'll need to strengthen the edge by back bevelling the blade.
