415v to 240v

Views please on the best way to get a 415v lathe say like a jet, powermaster etc run on a 240v supply and is it worth doing, I've been told the motor will lack torque????

What size motor is the lathe (HP)

Most in the range I've been looking are 1or2 hp, also not sure on the internal wire re- speed control etc

What area are you in jim as i have one of these which i no longer require as updated to a 15 HP rotary converter,It will run your lathe no problem.

Hi l’m down in Folkestone, was offered a 2hp 415 v Jet lathe by a friend I think his now sold it but I ‘m finding it cheaper in general to buy a 415 lathe

Get a lot more for your money and far better machines as built for work,Need a 415 supply though
