Regarding photographs.

You can PM me with telephone number and I will talk you through the set up if required. ( you also need an imaging program, psp, adobe etc.)

Not particularly surprised but it does depend on the motor design and ratings. There are others here with detailed knowledge of the wiring regs and why circuits are protected the way they are. My own (amateur) view would be to have plenty of margin on the breaker and a heavy duty cable to the saw so a fault should trip the breaker. From memory my 3hp saw is on a 32 amp breaker but only a 16 amp blue connector. I expect that is wrong officially but it works and only I use it.
