    WiZeR, you might be on to somat ! I think what I may do is get some cheaper softwood and see if i can do what i need to do by hand, i didn't think id find myself thinking that ! then if i need to do it later, at least i will have had the learning curve....

    yeah - no one likes burning flesh... i keep my hand tools (i don't have that many) in a single toolbox near the door so i can grab them if i work away, clearly i can grab them nice and fast, i think after that it would definitely be the table saw..
