    HI, sorry i'm a bit late on this but i work in groundworks usually do bases for houses ans large industrial buildings.     Fallen Beech Tree

    Just cut up 3 fallen trees today 1 beech and 2 oak we only ever use 16 or 18 inch saws a 16" saw cuts 32" if you go right round . get dragged back to the yard and we square them up as best as you can with a chaiinsaw then plank them about 3" thick and put them in a barn and let them air dry. :)

    for a tenner and about 3 hours work (saturday no rush). i am happy with the way it turned out . i think next project i'll make of oak flooring i will just finish it with danish oil. anyone used bamboo for any projects. :D

    could anyone tell me the right speed to run forstner bits on a pillar drill. I only have a bench mounted 5 speed pillar drill but i'm not sure whats best speed to run at . any help would be much appreciated

    the hole unit is made out of ripped flooring not just the top . just got another 2 packs damaged same price . the only damage i've found is one 300mm piece has a slight split in so now i've got 2 radiator covers to build has anyone built any to give me some design idea's. :D

    the top is t&g together edging and legs are biscuit jointed the top frame i half lapped and screwed and the frame is screwed through the bottom into the top. i left oversize holes to allow for movement.

    this is my first project I've done in terms of furniture . its a small coffee table but i think its turned out ok. I bought a damaged box of t&g 19mm oak flooring from b&q for £10.

    i think you've all got a point it just seems that everyone one on tv even the 2 new british woodworking programs are all using them. i think i'll have a rethink and get a new router with a decent extractor system on . thanks :D
