    Aldi Impulse Buy

These are some drills I bought from Aldi, made from Cheeseium I think. The first bent in the drill the second I bent with my fingers!

Enjoywood Router lift 65mm/69mm price drop

I use it with the Makita rt0700 which is 65mm and it is loose until tightened so I would go for 65mm as 66 mm should squeeze in but obviously it's a risk.

Enjoywood Router lift 65mm/69mm price drop

Just seen this on Banggood for £90, I paid £147 for it a few weeks ago so it's now a bargain, I'm sure it's not as good as the wellknown makes on here but for £90 it's great. Enjoywood router lift - 65mm/69mm Also it ships from the UK. Phil

    OMG! this looks brilliant

Yes it's very robust but not very quick, in vehicles we moved from serial to CAN many years ago and now we are moving to ethernet in vehicles to increase the speed of communications to keep up with realtime monitoring demands of driver assist systems

    OMG! this looks brilliant

They should combine forces with a well known 3D printer maker afterall it's pretty basic 2 axis control with stepper motors it's relatively old technology I would think the problem would be the cost to develop the remote control software and application, would they sell enough to make the money...

    OMG! this looks brilliant

Yes, I think it's more for the semi professional who makes a lot of repeat stuff and would value the repeatability and time saving.

This is a nice bit of kit but at $1700 a bit out of my price range and a bit over the top for general hobby use :) Shark Router table with Apps!

Lathe DRO on my DIY router table

Looks good, I'm going to see if I can design and 3D print a mounting bracket for the display so that it sits under the table and maybe make it slide in and out so it's protected when not in use.

Lathe DRO on my DIY router table

I'm putting together a router table with a Enjoywood lift from Banggood and so far it's going well, I also have a lathe and I thought I could use a DRO on the lift to measure the cutter height. It fitted really easily using an existing hole on the lift.

    Wood tearout

I will do, I looked at the rockler jig but thought I could make one out of the off cuts off wood I already have.

    Wood tearout

I was thinking along similar lines (and it's probably not as stable as it should be), I have the Makita rt0700CX4 and a router lift, I think I'll get that set up first and try again with a better quality bit.

    Wood tearout

I have ordered a Trend one that will be a lot better that the one I tried, hopefully.

    Wood tearout

Makes sense I suppose, I've just had a Google and it does look like you can get an 8mm collet for the rt0700cx4

    Wood tearout

I've looked for a 1/4 inch 10mm spiral bit and they don't appear to exist? I can only find 1/2 inch ones and I can't use them in the router I have.

    Wood tearout

Hi, I'm putting together a jig for cutting finger joints and I've just tried my first test and it was a pile of rubbish. Now I'm wondering if it's a problem with the plywood I'm using or maybe the router bit (it's not an expensive one). I'm getting cracking noises as I cut through and the layers...
