Excel/Lumberjack 1500w router table problem, Lift lock poorly working

Thanks for feedback. As Tris says, when locked it can be turned with a bit of effort, however it does move when in operation. I am using oak, 1/2" shank and in two passes. I have been working on it today and may have solved it. I have inserted a piece of 4mm perspex over the front plate using...

Why, how would sending it back make a difference? The replacement (I assume) would be the same

Excel/Lumberjack 1500w router table problem, Lift lock poorly working

Hi, I have the Excel one delivered yesterday and have found an issue which, to me is serious. After setting the height, I reach underneath and lock it in place. However, due to vibration the wheel gently moves, changing the height of the bit & messing the section up, no matter how tight I screw...

    Advice requested on a thicknesser

Thank you. Yeah, as in original post I am retired carpenter who just play's now. I do, as mentioned have the she-ite Titan ttb579 so if I do not want to square up by hand I can use that. I want to make a few boxes to replace decent products with rubbish plastic cases for example. But what I...

    Advice requested on a thicknesser

Why are you answering like that? If I had made my mind up I would not be asking. I listed about 5 models and asked for opinion, I really do not see why you have managed to totally misunderstand the question.

    Advice requested on a thicknesser

Hello As I am a retired chippie but I still like to play in my workshop at home. I made the mistake of buying a Titan thicknesser/planer which shed a belt and has become very noisy just lately. I would like advice on the cheaper end models of thicknesser's such as: Scheppach PLM1800. Excel -...

    Pen making (bush sizes) question

Hi I have now done a few slimline pens and am happy. I however want to move on to the more expensive kits and have noticed various kit's + the bushes being sold together and I don't wish to purchase that way. I would prefer to either make my own (I do have a metal lathe) or buy, say a "Set"...

Pen Turning attachment advice wanted please

I noticed on a few video's that they have in their lathe's a rod which appears to fit either side of a blank. If I understand it correctly you shape it to each side of the rod and it will then fit the pen kit. Does anyone know what they are called and where I would purchase one from please thanks
